About Us
My name is Ian Wickes and I am the founder of Digix. My wife Marina and I were brought together by our common love for photography. I am from Maryland USA and she is from Kiev Ukraine. We started communicating online in 2007and it quickly turned into us talking every day. After about half a year we decided it was time for us to meet so I arranged to fly to the Ukraine. Out of the blue I decided in my heart that I wanted to marry her even without ever physically meeting and purchased a ring to propose. I flew there in February of '08 and you can most likely guess the rest of the story. We are now happily married and she has moved to the USA to be with me.
We enjoy applying a photojournalistic style to all of our work, giving portraits and group work a vivid, living character that really makes them pop. Our photos have been featured in many shows with our local photography association.
Marina has been passionately shooting for about five years. She took general photography in collage and then recently attended courses by the late Alexei Abramov and graduated with honors. I have been shooting professionally for about five years as well. I bring my many life experiences to fire my passion for this art. Shooting with us as well is our father Gordon, a veteran photographer of forty plus years. He brings his oldschool knowledge in to the new age of digital photography. We have now combined all of our unique talents to make up Digix. We love working with any kind of photography from scenery to runway modeling.
